We are currently recruiting participants for two components of our research:
- Ethnographic participants to take part in a 1.5 year study.
We are seeking museum goers (regular or occasional) as participants to explore opportunities and limitations in media — everything from social media to digital museum content. Participants will receive an iPad/Samsung tablet as part of the study. Participants will be interviewed in their homes three times over 1.5 years. We will discuss various examples of online museum content, social media experiences and ask participants to reflect on the meanings, motivations and possibilities for co-creation. We seek to be informed by the lived experience and expertise of museum audiences in developing frameworks and resources to consider possibilities, opportunities, limitations and other futures.
- Museum professionals to take part in 30-minute interviews.
We are seeking to interview museum professionals about what they see as the future of museums in Australians' social lives. What are some of the emerging methods around museum engagement, audience experience and community outreach? Interviews can take place in-person in Melbourne or online.
